In addition to educational and networking events, the Manufactured Housing Educational Trust (MHET) Members benefit not only from MHET’s advocacy, but also from many products, services, and programs available to parks and mobile home owners living in the parks.
MHET Rental Assistance Program is designed to assist needy, low income mobile home owners by helping them pay a portion of their rent.
MHET publishes a monthly two page newsletter targeted at educating Park residents as well as local Elected Officials.
The newsletter is distributed to MHET Members to copy and distribute to the residents of their parks.
A new program announced in 2018 provides Park Owners with a program and specific process to address issues raised by their residents along with an outreach program to residents encouraging their feedback. This program joins with the California Mobile Home Newsletter in aiming at the complaint from local council members that Park Owners do not communicate with their residents.
MHET hosts regular forums and educational workshops on timely issues showcasing industry experts.
MHET provides numerous opportunities to meet with other park owners and industry leaders to expand their knowledge of the industry.
MHET has an extensive resource library with staff available to answer questions on the mobile home community industry. The MHET website also provides extensive information on the manufactured housing industry and a calendar of events.
An aggressive out-reach program uses professional audio-visual productions and printed informational material to educate local government officials, the media, and over 80 Tri-County cities about mobile home park communities. The public relations program puts community owners in an offensive rather than a defensive position when issues like rent control arise.
MHET sponsors the California Mobile Home News blog. It provides a forum for sharing information of interest to people who live and work in mobile home park communities in California and anyone else who is interested in knowing more about mobile home living.
