This year at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, Team USA attended and won a total of 126 medals overall consisting of forty-two bronze medals, forty-four silvers, and forty golds! Of the nearly 600 athletes on Team USA, twenty-one of them are from SoCal’s tri-county region of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties!
There are three gold medalists from our region! Congratulations to Women’s Soccer players Jenna Nighswonger of Huntington Beach and Trinity Rodman of Newport Beach as well as Women’s Basketball player Diana Taurus from Chino!
Both the Women’s and Men’s Volleyball teams brought home a Silver and Bronze medal respectively. Rep-resenting Women’s Volleyball are Kathryn Plummer from Aliso Viejo and Justine Wong Orantes from Cypress. And representing Men’s Volleyball is TJ Defalco from Huntington Beach.
Congratulations to Team USA’s overall victory at the Olympics, and a special congratulations to the athletes from the Tri-County region who re-presented their homes spectacularly! The 2024 Summer Olympics were an incredible watch, seeing international sportsmanship and fair competition. Team USA has made America extremely proud of their accomplishments! ■
