Sometimes it seems like California is in a constant drought and this summer is no exception. Several areas of Southern California, including parts of San Bernardino County, are already under water restrictions due to water shortage.
Communities dependent on water from Northern California via the State Water Project are now under restrictions on outdoor watering. Customers of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency, along with many in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, fall into this category.
Affected customers are now limited to certain days and times for outdoor water usage. So, if you’re thinking of using the garden hose, it’s a good idea to check your current city and county guidelines first. Those in violation of the water restrictions could face hefty fines.
Be sure to check in regularly with your city and county for updates, since the restrictions could change or be expanded depending on water availability.
