Spooky season is right around the corner. And with it, many mobile home residents are getting ready to decorate their homes in preparation for the holiday. Putting up festive decor is no simple chore though, and it can take several hours to set up and take down depending on how much you have, so you may want to know how soon you can get out the ghouls and when you’ll have to put away the pumpkins.
Most communities allow for spooky decor at the start of October, however some fall harvest decor such as pumpkins and cornstalks can start being displayed as early as September. Halloween décor should typically get taken down as soon as possible after the 31st.
It is also a good idea to keep your neighbors in mind when putting up Halloween decorations. Each lot or space is a limited amount of real estate, so while giant skeletons and blow-up vampires are in the spirit of Halloween, they may be in poor etiquette if they impede others.
So, in general, Halloween decorations can go up on October 1 and should get taken down on November 1. If you are unsure what is allowed, always check in with your manager. Your park may have different or specific guidelines regarding the content and timing of your holiday décor.
