Pride of Ownership Begins with Compliance With Park Community Guidelines

Mobile home communities are like many other single family home communities. The homes are individually owned and are on a lot that is required to be maintained by the home owner — whether a mobile home owner or a site-built homeowner. Some site-built communities have Home Owner Associations (HOA) that maintain the landscaped common areas and also enforce requirements such as maintenance of individual homes and lots. If a homeowner allows their home to fall into disrepair, parks cars in the front yard, or does not maintain landscaping, the HOA will take action to bring the homeowner into compliance. And, that is exactly how a manufactured home community operates. The owner/management of the mobile home park operates similar to an HOA and is responsible for making sure the homeowners follow the community’s rules like parking, landscape, maintenance, out-side storage, etc. In both of these examples, it is very important that the HOA/Park Management enforce the rules the same for all residents. When this is done consistently, the result be-comes a pride of ownership community, and everyone benefits. ■
