Never Forget: “We have emerged stronger and more unified”

For many of us, September can be a difficult month to face, as its 11th day marks the last time our great nation experienced a traumatic terrorist attack. We often think of where we were that day, turning on the news, calling our loved ones, and the rest is a blur of shock and bewilderment. But let us remember that day in a more healing way; let us observe it by honoring the 2,977 individuals whose lives were lost, comforting their friends and families, and reflecting on how resilient our nation became thereafter.

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani said, about the infamous event, “The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit. Instead, we have emerged stronger and more unified. We feel renewed devotion to the principles of political, economic, and religious freedom, the rule of law, and respect for human life. We are more determined than ever to live our lives in freedom.” Let this statement ring true in our lives and show in our actions toward our fellow citizens so that we as a nation can never forget.
