Leprechauns and Saint Patrick’s Day

Leprechauns are a well-known mythical creature as popular as unicorns and fairies. Leprechauns, according to Celtic folklore, are shoemakers who hide their gold earnings in a pot which they hide at the end of a rainbow. It is also said that catching one of these creatures would grant you three wishes in exchange for the fae’s freedom.

Something that may not be as commonly known how this itsy-bitsy Irishman relates back to Saint Patrick. And the truth is that they don’t. Saint Patrick and leprechauns do not have a direct relation to one another; instead, the thing that connects them is their association to Irish people and culture. Leprechauns continue to be a symbol of Ireland and its people as they have for centuries!
